Formation of Institute Members

The evolution and stability of the Institute are extensively subject to a careful selection of candidates. For this purpose, a period of Postulancy of at least six months is beneficial.

The following can be members of the Institute:

Catholic married couples or widows who can carry out the Works of the Institute, who have a sincere urge to reach perfect charity by following an evangelistic lifestyle in their conjugal state and who devote their lives forever to the apostolate.

A person who fulfills the conditions listed and also has received approval from their spouse.

Any Catholic who has a noble intention and possesses the attributes required by the Constitutions may be admitted to the Institute. They can be admitted only after adequate preparation.

The goal of the Postulancy is to aid better mutual awareness between the candidate and the Institute. Engaged couples, honestly planning to marry and wish to learn about the Institute vocation, can also become Postulants. They can enter into Postulancy after partaking a Course of Spiritual Exercises conducted by the Institute.

Life in the Institute starts with the Novitiate. The idea of the Novitiate is to assure that novices become aware of their divine vocation; they obtain knowledge of the lifestyle proper to the Institute; their suitability and real intentions are tested.

For the first three years, vows are made and renewed yearly; then they are made for two years. At the end of which they may be made perpetually. Members who have made temporary vows have a choice to renew them or not when they are due for renewal.

The last and lifelong phase of creation begins with perpetual vows. Continuous, orderly formation and spiritual path are given by the Provincial Delegate in the form of regular personal communication, and level-specific spiritual materials, books, audio or video recordings. In addition, periodic reminiscence with local Institute members and an annual Triduum (three days of spiritual exercises) are also given to members as a method of continuous spiritual development.
